Best known for being the city where Butch Cassidy robbed his first bank back in 1889, Telluride, Colorado is now known for being a great ski destination in the winter. Telluride Ski Resort provides winter travelers the best in skiing and snowboarding. Telluride gets around 300 inches of snow per year making it a great place to ski, but isn't as popular as some of the other Colorado ski resorts, so visitors typically don't have to deal with the crowds. Skiing lasts through April, so even spring skiers can enjoy Telluride. Besides the typical winter activities, there are other attractions in Telluride. The Telluride Historical Museum is a cute museum that gives the history of the city along with some fun exhibits. There are summer activities here as well. Bear Creek Falls is a great place for hiking and being out in nature. The San Miguel River and Bridal Falls is very beautiful and many like to take bike rides next to the river. Other summer activities include rafting down the river, mountain biking and kayaking. Really, Telluride is a great location for nature enthusiasts who enjoy being immersed in mountainsides, rivers, trees and more. With this being a year-round destination, visitors can enjoy Telluride no matter the month.
